Curated to reflect the rustic woodlands throughout the Piedmont region of North Carolina, this new boutique hotel and equestrian center combines exposed timber construction, traditional barn detailing, and a natural material palette to evoke the character of a pastoral outbuilding. Simultaneously an equestrian destination and a luxurious retreat, the Resort & Equestrian Center blends the functionality of agrarian architecture with the experience of a small-scale resort. Beneath its steeply pitched, cupola-topped roof, dual entrances lead inside, one to the working heart of the barn, where horse stalls, wash bays, and tack rooms reside, and the other to a gracious lobby and hotel restaurant. An indoor riding ring anchors the design, complete with a viewing gallery that transforms into a ceremonial setting for weddings and events. Second-floor hotel suites overlook the bucolic landscape with its winding stream, pond, and pasture. Here, equestrian life is gracefully intertwined with the comforts of luxury accommodation.
