Historic Reading Furnace

Standing amidst fields of pasture, wooded forests, and the fresh waters of French Creek, this historic farmstead connects us to a time when natural land shaped the nation. Revolutionary soldiers led by General George Washington once rested nearby, and the ironmasters of Reading Furnace left their mark on these grounds. Throughout our upcoming design and renovation of the existing 1734 farmhouse and its 1936 Brognard Okie-designed addition, we aim to honor the timeless beauty and historic significance of this Chester County estate.
