Assisi Residence Garage Addition
This carriage house, located along Philadelphia's Main Line, was commissioned to create additional space for modern-day luxuries. The new structure features a two-car garage and second-story art gallery. The site placement and design of this new ancillary structure ensured it created a sympathetic, discreet addition to the corner residential property. The carriage house is easily accessible from two entrances and pulls inspiration from the Tudor aesthetic and intricate Arts & Crafts detailing of the original 1925 home. The timber-frame design with features such as cantilevered beams above the garage doors allow the building to blend in, but with architectural detailing that stands out. The carriage house has proved to be an important addition to a landmark estate with a storied and eclectic history.
