1927 Historic District Residence

Designed to embody a country atmosphere near the city, homes within the South Wayne Historic District were designed by the Main Line's most prominent architects. Having lived across the globe, the homeowners commissioned Period Architecture to combine the charm of a Pennsylvania stone house with inspirations from their time abroad. After the removal of a substandard rear addition, the stone shell of the original home remained to ensure the regional character was retained. The two-story sunroom was rebuilt to provide more sound structure, additional weather protection, and a higher level of detailed millwork. A new detached two-story garage sits at the back of the property, which proved challenging given the steep slope of the terrain. Surrounded by beautiful English gardens, the outdoor space provides a secret hideaway within the suburban landscape. A summer pavilion and patio provide the perfect setting for entertaining.
